2. When should i book?
We recommend you book as early as possible as the end of April is very busy.
3. When do you pick up and deliver?
Store Your Dorm can facilitate deliveries 7 days a week from 8am till 10pm.
4. What are your office hours and scheduling hours?
The Store Your Dorm booking office is open 7 days a week from 9am till 9pm.
PAYMENT
1. What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, AMEX, Mastercard), Cash, and Cheque. In some locations we are also able to accept Debit payments.
2. When will I be charged?
Store Your Dorm is one of the few companies not to charge you until we pick-up your items. On the day we come to your room to pick-up your belongings you can provide us with payment.
STORAGE
1. Do I receive a record of what I put into storage?
Store
Your Dorm will give you a written receipt when we come to collect your
belongings. This inventory will reflect the number of boxes you are
storing and the number of additional items that do not fit inside a box
(ie. Fridge etc…)
2. What is the length of my commitment?
No
matter when you go home for the summer our price covers you until
September 18 of every school year. You will not be charged more unless
you decide you need storage beyond this date. Storage beyond this date
is charged at 15% of the total cost of your package per week. For
example, if you spend $160 storing your items for 4 months, after
September 18th you will be charged $24 per week.
3. Do you offer short or long term storage?
Store Your Dorm can accommodate short or long term storage needs in some of our locations. Please contact us to inquire about your specific needs.
4. Where are my items stored?
Your items are stored at one of our climate-controlled, highly secure facilities near your university/college.
5. What do I do if I’m not sure how many boxes I will need?
This
is a common problem for students, especially when you are finishing
your first year. To overcome this problem, we will bring you more than enough boxes. Store Your Dorm
only charges you for the boxes you end up using. Simply give the unused
boxes to your campus representative when he/she comes to pick-up your
packed boxes.
6. How long does it take to retrieve my belongings?
The
best rule of thumb is that the more notice you give us the greater the
likelihood we will be able to deliver your items back to you on the day
and time you choose. The end of August and first two weeks of September
are an extremely busy time of year so give us at least 3 days notice
before you arrive back at school.
7. Do I need to be present when you deliver my belongings?
While
we like to meet all of our customers face-to-face we can deliver your
stuff to a friend or front desk security guard. We need written consent
(email) by you in order to deliver to a third party.
8. Do you deliver to places without elevators?
Yes,
we will pick-up and deliver your items wherever you live, right into
your front door or room of choice. You don’t have to lift a finger.
9. Does Store Your Dorm help students off-campus?
Yes, there are no additional charges for picking-up items off-campus. We will come to your house even if you are on the third floor!
INSURANCE
1. Are my stored items insured?
Yes, all of our packages are insured for $500 while in our care.
2. How much is it for additional insurance?
Additional insurance can be purchased for $10 for each additional $100 of coverage, for 4 months. If you are interested in adding additional insurance please let us know when you book.
