1. Do I receive a record of what I put into storage?
Store
Your Dorm will give you a written receipt when we come to collect your
belongings. This inventory will reflect the number of boxes you are
storing and the number of additional items that do not fit inside a box
(ie. Fridge etc…)
2. I see you offer summer storage do you offer short or long term storage too?
Most Store Your Dorm customers us the service for summer storage but in some locations we also offer short and long term storage.
Summer storage runs from April to September. Short term storage can be for as little as a few days. Long term storage can be for as long as you like. Please contact us to inquire about your
specific needs.
3. Where are my items stored?
Your items are stored at one of our climate-controlled, highly secure facilities near your university/college.
4. What do I do if I’m not sure how many boxes I will need?
This
is a common problem for students, especially when you are finishing
your first year. To overcome this problem, we will bring you more than enough boxes. Store Your Dorm
only charges you for the boxes you end up using. Simply give the unused
boxes to your campus representative when he/she comes to pick-up your
packed boxes.
5. Can I store empty suitcases?
Yes we can
store your empty suitcases for $15 for the whole summer. Our large boxes are cheaper to
store than suitcases (at only $60 for 4 months of storage) and you can
pack much more in a box than in a suitcase.
6. How long does it take to retrieve my belongings?
The end of August and first two weeks of September
are an extremely busy time of year. We will contact you the middle of August to receive your new address and day of arrival at university. The earlier you get back to us with your new delivery details the greater the likelihood you will receive your things at a day and time that works best for you.
7. Can i access my goods over the summer?
We do not
typically allow access to your goods from May to July. However, if you
contact us with 2 weeks notice we will attempt to your accommodate your
request.
8. Do I need to be present when you deliver my belongings?
While
we like to meet all of our customers face-to-face we can deliver your
stuff to a friend or front desk security guard. We need written consent
(email) by you in order to deliver to a third party.
9. Do you deliver to places without elevators?
Yes,
we will pick-up and deliver your items wherever you live, right into
your front door or room of choice. You don’t have to lift a finger.
10. Does Store Your Dorm help students off-campus?
Yes, despite the Store Your Dorm name many of our customers live off
campus. There are no additional charges for picking-up items off-campus.
We will come to your house even if you are on the third floor! The only
restriction we have is that we do not offer our smallest package
(bronze package) to customers who are living off campus.
